About the Community Reading:

Every fall, Falvey Memorial Library co-sponsors a marathon reading of a text in partnership with the Villanova University Classical Studies Program, the Office for Mission and Ministry, and the Villanova Center for Liberal Education.

The day-long public reading often begins at 9 a.m. and continues until the book is finished. University President Rev. Peter Donohue, O.S.A., often opens up the reading. Refreshments available to participants throughout the day. Students and members of the University community may participate by reading a portion of the text aloud or just stopping in to listen.

The event is held in Falvey and is free and open to the public and approved for Augustine and Culture Seminar (ACS) co-curricular event credit.

Past selections have included Augustine's Confessions and Homer's Odyssey and the Iliad.
