Please join us in room 205 of Falvey Memorial Library on Friday, April 27 at 9:00 a.m. for the Falvey Scholars 2012 Award Presentation and Reception Ceremony. Falvey Scholars is an annual program that recognizes outstanding undergraduate research. Awardees are selected from various disciplines: Arts, Sciences, Engineering, Nursing and Business. At this event, award recipients will give short presentations on the content and findings of the research involved in the writing of the thesis or creation of the project report.
Presentations will be followed by a brief talk by the Rev. Fr. Peter Donohue, University President, in which he will bring attention to the importance of both undergraduate and graduate research on campus. He will also mention another significant event of the day related to the recognition and celebration of student research—the Sigma Xi Research 2012 Event, which will be taking place in Connelly immediately following Falvey Scholars. Attendees will be invited to visit Connelly for the Sigma Xi event after Falvey Scholars, which ends with a reception featuring light refreshments.
This event, co-sponsored by Falvey Memorial Library, the Center for Undergraduate Research and Fellowships, Honors, and Sigma Xi, is free and open to the public.
