Nova Feis: Sean-Nós Dance Workshop

Event Description:

Students, faculty and staff are cordially invited attend a traditional Irish dance workshop on March 17, St. Patrick's Day, in the Alumni Hall Gymnasium. The dance is called the Sean-Nós, which in traditional Irish means “old-style.” This will be a workshop teaching the traditional Irish step dancing. All are welcome; no experience is required.

This event is part of a weeklong series of events presented by the Irish Studies Program in conjunction with Falvey Memorial Library. More events are listed below.

7:00-9:00 p.m. – Irish Studies Conversation Circle (Room 205, Falvey Memorial Library)
Tuesday, March 18
7:30 p.m. – Film screening of Kings (Room 204, Falvey Memorial Library)
Wednesday, March 19
4:30 p.m. – Film screening of an Eamonn Wall, PhD, documentary with discussion of Irish
writing in America led by Daniel Tobin, PhD, professor of writing, literature and  publishing at Emerson College. (Speakers’ Corner, Falvey Memorial Library)
Thursday, March 20
5:30 p.m. – Villanova Dance Team open workshop and discussion (Speakers’ Corner, Falvey
Memorial Library.)
Friday, March 21
3:00-4:00 p.m. – Flag Gaelic football (Tolentine Field)

These events, co-sponsored by the Irish Studies Program and Falvey Memorial Library, are free and open to the public.
