• Criminal Justice Abstracts
  Covers crime trends, crime prevention and deterrence, juvenile delinquency, juvenile justice, police, courts, punishment and sentencing. The database contains indexes and summaries of international journal articles, books, and governmental and non-governmental reports on a wide range of topics in criminal justice.

• National Criminal Justice Reference Service Abstracts
  The NCJRS database covers the fields of law enforcement and criminal justice. It contains summaries of more than 190,000 publications including books, government reports, research reports, and unpublished research. It also includes content from 189 journals, including 12 with core coverage.
  >> Look for a URL to the full text first. Many of the publications indexed by the NCJRS are freely available online. Use the interlibrary loan function on the FindIt menu only if there is no URL in the record.
• Sociological Abstracts
  Indexes scholarly journals in the field of sociology.
• Social Services Abstracts
  Covers current research focused on social work, human services, and related areas.
• Opposing Viewpoints Resources
  Access information on social issues through viewpoint articles, topic overviews, statistics, primary documents, links to web sites and full-text magazine and newspaper articles.

• HeinOnline
  This legal database provides fully-searchable and image-based text of over 500 law journals.

The Library has a large number of subject specific online encyclopedias with up-to-date articles on your paper topic. They will lead you to exhaustive and well-researched articles that are written and signed by scholars. Jump start your research with valuable background information, a detailed overview and/or a bibliography of current research.

• WorldCat
  A catalog of library holdings worldwide. WorldCat will indicate any local library holdings and also offers an inter-library loan request option.
• E-Z Borrow and Interlibrary Loan
  Interlibrary loan is available for books and journals that are not owned by Falvey. EZ-Borrow is usually faster than interlibrary loan, since the books come from a local library network. EZ-Borrow can be used for books that the Library owns, but that are currently checked out by somebody else.

Citing Your Sources

• Documenting Source in APA Style
  Research and Documentation Online by Diana Hacker. Includes sample paper and list of cited reference in APA style.
  Sample APA style paper and list of cited references.

• Export references in APA style for your cited reference list.
  Use the "Add to Folder" links to create a list of potentially useful articles then switch to Folder View and Select all items. Click on the "Save as File" icon to the right of your results and select APA in the drop down menu under "Citation Format." Click on "Save" and then copy and paste the resulting list of APA style citations into your word file. APA is the most widely used style in the social sciences.
