Searching for Articles from Nursing Journals to Support Your Care Plans

NUR3112 - SPRING 2013

After completing these activities you will be able to

• search PubMed CINAHL more efficiently  (Save time!)
• retrieve citations to articles from journals that meet your instructors' criteria
  
• select citations and export them PubMed and CINAHL to your RefWorks account
• use the "Bibliography" feature in RefWorks to create a bibliography in APA 6th style

Submit your bibliography for grading by the due date set for your clinical group.   Feel free to submit early, if you like!.

Ready to sharpen your search skills? Follow these steps...

Step 1:  Choose and refine your topic

Step 2: Search MeSH for the best medical subject heading and PubMed for the best 3 journal articles on your topic

Step 3: Search CINAHL Headings for the best nursing subject heading and CINAHL for the best 3 journal articles on your topic.

Step 4: Create an annotated bibliography in correct APA style using the 6 articles you chose.  RefWorks will really be a time-saver for this step!

• Use the Create Bibliography feature of RefWorks to create a bibliography in APA 6th ed. style listing the citations in your RefWorks folder.
• Submit your assignment VIA BLACKBOARD for grading
  

• DONE!
