Reviewing the Scholarly Sociological Literature Published in Books

  • The Library's online catalog
  • WorldCat
A catalog of library holdings worldwide. WorldCat will indicate any local library holdings and also offers an inter-library loan request option.
  • E-Z Borrow and Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary loan is available for books and journals that are not owned by Falvey. EZ-Borrow is usually faster than interlibrary loan, since the books come from a local library network. EZ-Borrow can be used for books that the Library owns, but that are currently checked out by somebody else.

Reviewing Sociological Dissertations and Theses

  • Dissertations & Theses Full Text
A comprehensive collection of dissertations and theses with over 2.4 million dissertations and theses included from around the world. Each dissertation published since July 1980 includes a 350-word abstract written by the author. Bibliographic citations are available for dissertations dating from 1637, and full text is available from 1997 on.

Reviewing Scholarly Journal Articles

  • Sociological Abstracts
Covers sociological topics in fields such as anthropology, economics, education, medicine, community development, philosophy, demography, political science, and social psychology. Journals published by sociological associations, groups, faculties and institutes, and periodicals containing the term "sociology" in their titles are abstracted fully.

Please contact your librarian for further database recommendations.
