A statement corroborated by the letters of public men, of the conduct of the late chancellor of the exchequer, Lord Althorp, to Mr. Cadogan Williams, in reference to the government scheme founded on the act of Parliament entitled "An Act to Enable Depositors in the Savings' Banks and Others to Purchase Government Annuities," and to show there is unsoundness in the scheme, and that it must be re-constructed.
