What we do
The Technology department exists to meet the technology needs of the Library.
The department is responsible for providing front-line support and maintenance for public workstations, staff hardware and software, the Library’s web presence, and other online systems such as the Digital Library and Integrated Library System; it liaises with UNIT for additional support when necessary. The department also contributes to Library decision-making processes related to technology, advocating for the use of open systems when practical.
The department frequently contributes to the broader library community through participation in open source projects, including the Falvey-initiated VuFind project, which is now used worldwide.
