Collections Directorate is a newly formed work area that consists of several critical library functions to support the Falvey Memorial Library’s general and distinctive collections. These include managing the Library’s resources through acquisitions and licensing activities; facilitating discovery and enabling access through metadata creation and enhancement to the Library’s physical and digital collections; managing the life-cycle of electronic resources; preserving and curating Villanova University’s Special Collections and Archives; and providing research support to those collections. Collections Directorate staff routinely provide consultation to the University Community in the areas of digital humanities (scholarship) and scholarly publishing.
