Digital Scholarship at Falvey Memorial Library
Falvey Memorial Library's Digital Scholarship Program supports faculty, students, and staff interested in applying digital methods and tools to their research and teaching. Digital scholarship encompasses a broad range of technologies and research areas, including but not limited to digital mapping (GIS), text and data mining, data visualization, virtual reality, 3D modeling, and digital publishing. We host lectures on digital scholarship topics, partner on digital research projects, and provide a collaborative space for consultations and training.
Our Values
Openness
We foster open research practices and the use of open source software and tools. We strive to be transparent about our research workflows, methodologies, and creative process when we collaborate on digital pedagogy and research projects.
Collaboration
In collaboration with Villanova faculty, students, and staff, we are committed to learning digital tools as a group, expanding our knowledge and skills together. We believe in learning new technologies through trial, error, experimentation, and collaboration.
Teaching
The Digital Scholarship program at Falvey holds lectures through our Digital Seeds Speaker Series. We hold events, exhibits, workshops, and trainings on digital scholarship methods and tools, with a focus on building Villanova’s digital literacy skills.

The Digital Scholarship Lab
Scheduled to open soon, the Digital Scholarship Lab will support the exploration and use of digital methods and tools. The Lab will provide consultation space, software, and hardware designed to cultivate experimentation and inspire researchers to investigate new opportunities for engaging in digital scholarship.
