Books are an important source of critical literature. Discover the Library's collection of electronic books through Books & Media or JSTOR.
The Library subscribes to a large number of history journals. Use the Journal Finder or the Articles & More search in the Library's catalog to look for known references and to discover scholarly articles about any topic.

Books & Media
Start with a keyword search and use the hyper-linked Library of Congress subjects to focus your search results. Alternatively, use available facets such as topic and language to narrow search results. Subject searches can significantly increase or decrease search results.
Use the Online collection facet to limit results to ebooks.

Note that the subject search returns mach smaller numbers and will typically not include books with a single chapter on the subject. Subject searches only recognize one spelling variation. It is recommended to compare subject and keyword search results.

This section of the catalog enables you to search millions of full text articles and other electronic resources available through the Library. Check Limit to articles from peer-reviewed journals to focus on scholarly journal articles.

JSTOR
Provides a full text archive of academic journals and books in the humanities, social sciences, and mathematics. The most recent three to five years of a journal are usually not included.

Art Full Text (EBSCO)
Indexes academic journals and other types of publications in the fields of art and architecture. Includes abstracts of journal articles. Use the full text links to connect to online journals and interlibrary loan options.

Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals (ProQuest)
Indexes academic journals and other types of publications in the field of architecture. Includes abstracts of journal articles. Use the full text links to connect to online journals and interlibrary loan options.

Borrow from Other Libraries (Interlibrary Loan/ILL)
Request articles that are not available in the local collection through interlibrary loan. Enter citation information into the online request form. Electronic delivery takes generally one to two days. Print books are currently not available through interlibrary loan.
