Idea Generation New Products

New product & service successes and failures are often mentioned in the news and on web sites, but if you are at a lost and casting about for a new product to evaluate, these sites and databases monitor and award new product launches. It may be tempting to focus on new products you might find mentioned on Buzzfeed or Lifehack or even Oprah's list of favorite thing, but choosing a very niche product may prove difficult to find material on.

Market Research Reports

What ever product you choose, you need to put it in context with similar products.  Market research reports are written by analysts that pay close attention to the trends and developments in a category.  Search the databases below to try and find data on products similar to the one you're reporting on.

Company Background

If a small, private or startup organization has brought your new product to market it will prove more difficult to find background information about the business, than if you are reporting on a new product marketed by a large publically traded company.  Find out what you can from the company web site, company directories, reports and new sources.
