To evaluate the potential of markets for golfing or athletic footwear, it will be helpful to look at growth trends in the catagory and participation rates.  Consider using proxy indicators of market potential such as golf equipment sales. World Golf Foundation Golf Around the World  Crowdsources project to gather data on golf penetration around the world spearheaded by charitable foundation devoted to expanding golfing around the world

International Golf Federation Link to member associations to get data on participation and courses and learn about developments in foreign markets.  Language may be a barrier.

Search broadly for Golf and then filter by geography to find articles about trends and impacts of golf on potential markets.  Country commerce reports detail how to do business in the target market.

  Mintel Reports
Get a report on golf tourism.

Use the onesource module to look for market reports on sporting equipment that include data on the golfing segment.
