Company profiles provide succinct historical overviews of a firm and their current business segments.  Typically they identify current, but not historical, top management and competitors as well.

  MarketLine Company Profiles (EBSCO)
Offers detailed reports on U.S. and foreign companies in a wide range of industries. These reports provide a description of the business, company history, key personnel, products, services, and competitors. MarketLine Industry Reports are available from the D&B Global Business Browser database.

  Mergent Online  Limitations on Use
Provides detailed financial statements for U.S. and international public and private companies, including SEC filings and current and historical annual reports for U.S. and international public companies. Data can be downloaded in a variety of formats. Also includes country profiles.

  D&B Hoovers
Offers public and private company and industry information including company profiles, market research reports from Marketline, Freedonia, Euromonitor, and RMA updated with recent news, executive profiles, and analyst reports.

Top Management Team Demographics

The current officers & some biographical information will be included in company profiles.  To identify top management teams over a five or ten year span you will need to do some retrospective research. Demographic information about executives can typically for age, education, prior positions, compensation, gender, marital status and board appointments.

Officers Statements on Strategy

An understanding of a firms strategic direction can be identified in officers statements, inferred from company actions, or gleaned from secondary sources such as analyst reports, company news reported in the press or company profiles.

Corporate investor relations pages often provide links to presentations or transcripts of speaches.

SEC filings including the glossy annual report, 10K for domestic companies and 20-F for foreign filers typically include management discussion shedding light on strategy. SEC filings can be found on EDGAR SEC or by linking through from Mergent, or Morningstar or ReferenceUSA Onesource

Fair Disclosure Wire provides access to conference calls, where officers present results and field questions from analysts.  Do an advanced search, type the target company name on the second line and use the subject drop down.

Seeking Alpha also provides links to transcripts of conference calls.
