PAIS International (CSA)
The PAIS International database contains references to more than 460,000 journal articles, books, government documents, statistical directories, grey literature, research reports, conference reports, publications of international agencies, microfiche, Internet material, and more. Newspapers and newsletters are not indexed.

Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) - Country Reports, Country Profiles and Market Indicators and Forecasts from the Economist Intelligence Unit offer monthly and annual in depth analysis, data and ratings for the infrastructure, demographics, political scene, domestic economy, foreign trade, including regional and industrial sector breakdowns for over 200 countries.  

OECD iLibrary  (also contains parts of International Migration Outlook)
Full text access to all of the books, periodicals, statistics and working papers produced by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development since 1998. Statistics are available via pdf files or via interactive databases with downloadable Excel or comma delimited text. Metadata is easily accessible. Books, periodicals and working papers may be searched by title or subject fields or in full text. Browsing by publication type or thematic subject is also available. SourceOECD comprises 20 Book collections by theme, containing all our monographs and reports; 24 periodicals; a reference title; and the OECD statistical databases.

CQ Electronic Library (CQ Press)
Combines many CQ Press resources for research in American government, politics, history, public policy, and current affairs. Provides access to Congress and the Nation (1945-2004), Historic Documents Series (1972 -), Political Handbook of the World, Supreme Court Yearbook (1989 -), Vital Statistics on American Politics and the Washington Information Directory.  Also includes CQ Weekly, CQ Researcher Archive, CQ Global Researcher and CQ Press Voting and Elections Collection.

Ethnic NewsWatch (ProQuest)
An interdisciplinary, bilingual (English and Spanish) and comprehensive full text database of newspapers, magazines and journals from ethnic, minority and native presses. This current database begins its coverage in 1990.

Web of Science provides seamless access to the Science Citation Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index.

Lexis Nexis Academic
Provides full-text access to a wide range of news (national, international, regional, business, legal, and foreign language); business (company financial news and information, accounting, auditing & tax information, industry and market news); legal (access to every facet of U.S. Legislative activity: hearings transcripts and submitted testimony, committee reports, bills, public laws, congressional member public interest group ratings, selected committee prints, congressional documents, the Congressional Record, the Federal Register, the Code of Federal Regulations, and the U.S. Code; statistical (index and abstracts to American Statistics Index (U.S. government statistical sources). Gale Virtual Reference Library

Provides cross reference searching in encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research including arts, business, social sciences and sciences.

ProQuest Newspapers

Includes coverage of 27 newspapers including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post, plus other important U.S., international and minority interest papers.

Population Index on the web

Primary reference tool to the world's population literature. It presents an annotated bibliography of recently published books, journal articles, working papers, and other materials on population topics. This website provides a searchable and browsable database containing 46,035 abstracts of demographic literature published in Population Index in the period 1986-2000.

European legislation - summaries

Presents the main aspects of European Union (EU) legislation,  It provides approximately 3 000 summaries of European legislation, divided into 32 subject areas corresponding to the activities of the European Union.

Historical statistics of the United States, colonial times to 1970

A compendium of statistics from over 1000 sources last updated in the distant 1975 and has been expanded to include over 37,000 data series.
