You can use this search either to find specific materials on an area of interest or to use the results to get ideas for additional keywords or to sharpen research questions. Social Science DatabaseS
Subject-specific databases allow you to search the literature within a particular discipline. Below is a limited list of suggested starting places. Depending on your area(s) of interest, you can also consult Falvey's subject guides for additional suggestions.
- Search for your topic of interest (e.g. gerrymandering) and math* or quant* or, optionally, a specific methodology of interest
- Some (though not all) subject databases offer a facet on their advanced search and results page that will allow you to filter specifically for quantitative research or mathematical modeling, and many subject databases include discipline-specific search functionalities that allow you to either focus your search or interpret or narrow your results.

Located within the U.S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences, NCES is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education in the U.S. and other nations. Offers a tool for mapping and analyzing U.S. national data on a wide variety of topics including education, income, employment, public health, crime, housing, transit, and more. Researchers can conduct demographic and socioeconomic analyses on a variety of geographic levels, from the national level to the neighborhood census block group as well as custom regions.
