Social Science DatabaseS

Subject-specific databases allow you to search the literature within a particular discipline. Below is a limited list of suggested starting places. Depending on your area(s) of interest, you can also consult Falvey's subject guides for additional suggestions.

Search tips:

  • Search for your topic of interest (e.g. gerrymandering) and math* or quant* or, optionally, a specific methodology of interest
  • Some (though not all) subject databases offer a facet on their advanced search and results page that will allow you to filter specifically for quantitative research or mathematical modeling, and many subject databases include discipline-specific search functionalities that allow you to either focus your search or interpret or narrow your results.
