Literature reviews are helpful to better understand a topic, organize existing explanations, generate possible hypotheses for your research ans serve as a gateway to high quality and relevant scholarly sources.
Literature reviews are data-gathering activities leading to a final synthesis of results. You may need to conduct a literature review to:

ICPSR Bibliography of Data-Related LiteratureThe Bibliography of Data-Related Literature is a continuously-updated database of thousands of citations of works using data held in the ICPSR archive. The works include journal articles, books, book chapters, government and agency reports, working papers, dissertations, conference papers, meeting presentations, unpublished manuscripts, magazine and newspaper articles, and audiovisual materials.
International Database - Census Bureau (IDB)The IDB includes demographic measures of over 200 countries and areas of the world with populations of 5,000 or more. Data in the IDB include total population, population by age and sex, and demographic characteristics such as fertility, mortality, and migration.
